Russia to share its space expertise with Cuba
According to a RIA Novosti report, Roscosmos chief Anatoly Perminov, who is part of the team said that the two countries were working on a space cooperation agreement. He said that they were also considering ways of jointly using the earth remote sensing satellites and space-based telecommunication systems.
Perminov said that talks were on to allow Cuba the use of GLONASS satellite navigation system, and building of a space center. “We have tentatively discussed the possibility of assisting Cuba to build its own space center,†the Roscosmos chief said.
RIA Novosti quoted Perminov as saying that Cuban specialists would be visiting Russia to learn more about the state-of-the-art space technology and equipment.
