India to miss total lunar eclipse

The total lunar eclipse will be visible in Europe, Western Africa, America, Eastern Australia, Pacific Ocean area and some parts of Asia on December 21st.

INDORE (PTI): The total lunar eclipse on December 21 would occur during day time and thus will not be visible in the country.

The eclipse would begin at 10.58 am and end at 4.36 pm with total eclipse taking place at 1.47 pm when the moon will be completely covered by the shadow of the earth, Rajendra Prakash Gupta, Superintendent of Jiwaji Observatory - Ujjain, told PTI Friday.

"The total lunar eclipse will be visible in Europe, Western Africa, America, Eastern Australia, Pacific Ocean area and some parts of Asia," Gupta said, adding that it will be this year's last eclipse.

The lunar eclipse occurs when the earth comes between the sun and the moon.
