Indian, Malaysian Navy to hold joint maritime exercise
Indian Navy’s guided missile destroyers INS Rana and INS Ranjit have arrived in Malaysia to carry out joint naval drill.

PORT KLANG, MALAYSIA (PTI): An Indian naval flotilla comprising guided missile destroyers INS Rana and INS Ranjit has arrived here to carry out high sea maritime exercises with the Malaysian Navy.
The warships are carrying out these exercises in the backdrop of rising menace of sea piracy in the Malacca Straits.
The two destroyers are backed by fleet tanker INS Jyoti. Commanding the flotilla Rear Admiral P Murugesan said the four day visit highlight the long maritime relationship between Royal Malaysian Navy and Indian Navy.
“The Navy is an ideal platform to provide security arrangement to the maritime. In that direction, both navies have enormous scope to work together and then provide the safe maritime security environment so that our trade progresses and our countries’ development will increase.
We would be doing the maritime security exercise with the Malaysian Navy when we are leaving on June 23,” he added.
