INDIANAPOLIS (BNS): Raytheon has been given an $ 18.9 million firm-fixed-price contract from US Navy to produce LAU-115D/A, and LAU-116B/A missile launchers.

US Naval Air Systems Command will use the launchers for its F/A-18E/F and E/A-18G aircraft.

The launchers will give a structural and electrical interface to the aircraft that increases their potential to carry and launch missiles like Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) and AIM-9X Sidewinder, as said in a Raytheon news release.

The company is expecting to deliver the launchers to US Navy by September 2012.

Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC facility will build the launchers at Indianapolis, Ind.
