Antonov awarded contract for aircraft upgradation

The Ukraine based company Antonov got a USD 400mn contract from India for the upgradation of An-32 commercial aircraft.

NEW DELHI (BNS): Antonov has bagged $400 million contract from India for upgradation of An-32 commercial aircraft.

The aircraft can be used for transportation of military personnel and aerial delivery of soldiers.

The An-32 is an updated version of the venerable Soviet An-26, a twin-engine engineered for transporting cargo or people in rugged regions, particularly Soviet client states of the Cold War era.

The AN-32 aircraft were acquired for the Indian Air Force in the 1980s and is widely considered a 'safe' aircraft.

Antonov Aeronautical Scientific/Technical Complex is a Ukraine based company deals with the designing and modifications of aircrafts of various classes and purposes.
