Ukraine will spend $2 billion for the construction of four corvettes

KIEV (BNS): Ukraine plans to develop four corvettes warships indigenously by 2021, a media report said.

“The Ukrainian defence ministry will spend $2 billion for the four corvettes,” ARMS TASS quoted Ukraine Defence Minister Mikhail Yesel as saying

Ukraine will also develop the programmes missile complex "Peregrine Falcon" and a military transport aircraft An-70 after the approval of Ukrainian defence government for the development of armaments and military equipment in 2011-2015, he said.

In March 2009, Ukrainian Government have approved the defence programme for building ten ships-class corvettes under the project 58250, but due to the limited budget only four ships will be constructed till 2021.
