Technical snag forces LCH to cut short air display

BANGALORE (PTI): A technical fault forced the home-grown Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) to cut short its flying display at Aero India 2011 at Yelahanka Air Force base here on Thursday.

An official of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited which built the prototype of LCH, said during a flight, the pilot observed "a kind of noise" and brought down the helicopter as a precautionary measure.

"It will be studied and data will be analysed tomorrow," the HAL official said, adding, "We are hopeful that LCH will resume flights day after tomorrow."

LCH was slated to perform short flights on all five days of the air show.
