Soyuz spacecraft with three astronauts lands safely

MOSCOW (BNS): Russian spacecraft Soyuz TMA-15 carrying three astronauts landed safely at the northern Kazakh city of Karkalyk Tuesday.

The space capsule had a smooth touchdown at 10:16 Moscow time (7:16 GMT) as scheduled.

It brought back Expedition 21 crew Russian cosmonaut Roman Romanenko, ESA astronaut Frank De Winne and Canadian astronaut Robert Thirsk who completed a stint of six months in the International Space Station.

Earlier, the spacecraft had undocked from the orbital station at 7:00 a.m. Moscow time (04:00 GMT), Roscosmos said.
