MOSCOW (BNS): Russian Air Force has received a new batch of six Mi-28N Night Hunter attack helicopters, a media report said Wednesday.
"The helicopters have been delivered to the Torzhok training center to improve the pilot training programme there," RIA Novosti quoted Defense Ministry spokesman Col. Vladimir Drik as saying.
The Mi-28N helicopter are the modernise version of Mi-28 Havoc attack helicopter which is manufactured by Rostvertol plant in southern Russia.
The helicopter is designed to conduct hunter-killer missions against ground forces, main battle tanks, and armour in any weather conditions, it said.
Currently, Russia have 24 Mi-28s in its fleet and the Defence Ministry is planning to procure some 45 to 67 Mi-28Ns in the next few years to completely replace the ageing Mi-24 Hind helicopters from its armed forces.
