The parade will be attended by over 160 land equipment units. A total of 127 aircraft will fly over the skies of Red Square in Moscow on Sunday, Russian Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov said.

The weapons on display will include the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft gun systems, S-400 surface-to-air missiles, Topol-M ballistic missiles, Yak-130 light attack trainer aircraft, the minister said as reported by Arms-Tass.

Almost all types of aircraft and helicopters of the Russian Air Force will take part in the parade, he said.

The aircraft that will fly on the occasion include Su-27 fighters, Su-25 Frogfoot attack planes, MiG-29 Fulcrum and MiG-31 Foxhound fighters along with a number of other military transport planes. Besides, the Tu-95MS Bear strategic bombers and supersonic Tu-160 Blackjacks will also show their might on that day.

“If the weather intervenes, the parade will involve 96 aircraft,” Serdyukov said.

Leaders from around 25 countries are expected to attend the parade in Moscow. It will also see participation of military units of US, UK and France for the first time.
