MOSCOW (BNS): Russia is all set to conduct the test-launch of the sea based Bulava ballistic missile in June, a media report said.

"The launch will be carried out as soon as the ice melts...sometime in June," RIA Novosti quoted missile designer Yury Solomonov as saying.

On October 2010, Russia has successfully conducted the 13th test launch of Russia's Bulava intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) from the Dmitry Donskoi nuclear-powered submarine in the White Sea, hitting a target on a test range in Russia's Far East Kamchatka region some 6,000 kilometers to the east.

According to the report, the next launch could be carried out either by the Dmitry Donskoi or Yury Dolgoruky submarines.

The ICBM has a range of over 8,000 kilometers and it is designed to be installed on the Russian Navy's new Borey class nuclear-powered submarines.

Russia plans to conduct at least four test launches of the Bulava missile in 2011.
