Norwegian Army acquires 20 DINGO-2 from KMW


Dingo 2 is an all-protected carrier vehicle

MUNICH (BNS): The Norwegian Army will procure 20 DINGO 2 heavily armoured wheeled vehicles from Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), for the Norwegian troops operating at Hindu Kush.

The financial terms of the contract were not disclosed by the company.

The delivery of first ten vehicles to the Norwegian Army will be completed by November end. Later, the vehicles will be transported to the operational areas.

The company has scheduled the delivery of remaining vehicles by February 2011.

The Dingo 2 is operated as a patrol and protection vehicle. The contract includes the delivery of specialised tools, the training of the vehicle crews and the option to purchase further vehicles.

Additionally, KMW also supports the Norwegian forces with its service teams in Afghanistan, with tasks such as maintenance and repairs.

Dingo 2 is also in service for the countries like Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Austria and the Czech Republic.
