ORLANDO (BNS): Lockheed Martin has received a contract worth $831 million to provide Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems for US Navy's vessels.

Lockheed has been chosen as one of the four companies that will compete for task orders to enhance situational awareness on US Navy ships, submarines and shore stations.

The three-year contract, with an initial value of $831 million, could be worth $1.375 billion if extended for another two years, Lockheed said.

The contract, awarded by the US Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), entails installation and operational certification of C4ISR systems on the Navy vessels and stations on the East and West Coasts as well as at multiple overseas locations.
