HAIFA (BNS): Elbit Systems has been awarded an approx $130 million contract from Latin American Army to supply Command, Control, Computer & Communications (C4I) systems and Electronic Warfare (EW) systems to the army.
The contract will be performed for three years by the company.
Under this contract, Elbit Systems will provide extensive modernisation programme to the army and it is designated for all echelons, from the manoeuvring forces to the command headquarters.
The C4I systems and EW systems with unified communications network will facilitate a real-time common operational picture of the battlefield to the Latin American land forces, which will enhance operational performance and situational awareness in the army.
Both systems will give improved force protection and prevention from "friendly fire".
Elbit Systems and its subsidiaries operates in the areas of aerospace, land and naval systems, command, control, communications, computers, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance ("C4ISR") and unmanned aircraft systems ("UAS").
