Israeli Navy chief visits Western Naval Command in Mumbai

MUMBAI (PTI): Commander-In-Chief of Israeli Navy Vice Admiral Ram Rutberg, who is on an official visit to India from August 24 to 27, visited Mumbai on Tuesday.

Vice Admiral Ram Rutberg met Vice Admiral SPS Cheema, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Naval Command here, a defence release said.

He also visited Indian Naval Ship Kolkata, an indigenously designed and developed guided missile destroyer, where he interacted with Rear Admiral R Hari Kumar, Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet, the release said.

He visited the Heritage Hall and Apollo Bunder museums of the Naval Dockyard Mumbai.

The two navies have a long history of co-operation on many fronts and INS Trikand, which is a frontline warship of the Western Naval Command visited Haifa in Israel from August 19 to August 22, the release said.
