NEW DELHI (PTI): Indian Army Chief General V K Singh will be on a two-day visit to Barmer from Tuesday to witness the culmination phase of the military exercise 'Sudarshan Shakti'.
IAF is also taking part in the war-games with all its lead transport and fighter aircraft involved under its separate exercise codenamed MahaGugRaj.
In the joint exercise on Monday, a large scale Air Transport Operation (ATO) was undertaken to drop elements of Special Forces of the Army in the exercise war zone.
"The operation was jointly planned between Command Staff of the SWAC and the Army Parachute Battalion. The operation was undertaken by AVRO, AN-32 and IL-76 transport aircraft, escorted by Su-30 MKI fighter to protect against simulated enemy fighters," Defence spokesperson Colonel S D Goswami said.
