Naval Group, Nibe Limited sign strategic MoU

Naval Group and Nibe Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing a formal framework for cooperation across a range of technological areas of mutual interest.
Signed on September 18, 2026, the agreement highlights the two companies’ commitment to strengthening India’s self-reliance in naval programmes under the flagship ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative.
Under the MoU, Naval Group and Nibe will collaborate on advanced naval technologies spanning shipbuilding, defence platforms and autonomous systems. Areas of cooperation will include underwater drones, mine countermeasure vessels, underwater submarine systems, naval weapon-launching systems and their maintenance.
The partnership will also facilitate the exchange of expertise in underwater drones and their integration aboard submarines, future weapon-ready modular launching systems, as well as mine countermeasure systems and related engineering.
Naval Group, which has maintained a presence in India for more than a decade, has consistently supported the country’s naval defence industry and built an extensive network of industrial partnerships.
Building on this longstanding engagement, the new partnership with Nibe will leverage the complementary experience and expertise of both companies, further strengthening their combined value proposition and technological capabilities in support of the Indian Navy, Naval Group said.
