ZHUKOVSKY, MOSCOW (TASS-DEFENSE): Russia's United Engine Corporation (UEC) has signed agreements at the MAKS 2017 international airshow to overhaul AL-31FP turbojet engines mounted on Malaysian Air Force's Sukhoi Su-30MKM fighter jets, the corporation's press office said on July 20.

The additional agreements to the framework contract concluded in 2015 were signed by UEC Head Alexander Artyukhov and CEO of Malaysia's Aerospace Technology Systems Corporation (ATSC) Mohamed Fadzar in the presence of Malaysian Air Force Chief Datuk Seri Affendi Buang.

The framework contract was extended through 2023.

"Malaysia is one of our key partners in the Asia-Pacific Region. In accordance with the cooperation development programme, our corporation is interested in creating a system of comprehensive after-sales maintenance for products delivered earlier," UEC CEO Alexander Artyukhov said after signing the documents.

"I am convinced that the agreements signed today will strengthen relations we are establishing with Malaysian operators," he added.
