NEW DELHI (BNS): Govt of India Monday said there have been no major changes in the Chinese activities along the Sino-India border.
According to Defence Minister A K Antony, "there is no commonly delineated LAC between India and China. He also added that there has not been any significant change in the Chinese activity along LAC over the last few years."
The Minister while answering a Lok Sabha query further said that incursion issue was taken up with Chinese authorities through Hot-lines, border meetings and other established mechanisms.
On one major concern regarding China building airstrips Govt said it’s not an issue to worry on as India is equally strengthening its armed forces.
"As a regional power, China will strengthen their infrastructure and we are also strengthening ourselves," as per M M Pallam Raju, Minister of State for Defence.
On query relating to the Chinese objection of Road project in Demchok near the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh region, Pallam Raju said that such things do happen due to the difference in perception.
The project is beign done under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) in Ladakh region. The project will help in improving road connectivity and also provide employment to the local people.
