Iran tests two indigenously built anti-ship missiles

TEHRAN (BNS): Iran Revolutionary Guards have tested the indigenously designed anti-ship missiles Khalij Fars at the annual large-scale military exercises in Persian Gulf, a media report said.

The Khalij Fars is a single-stage solid-propellant, Anti-ship ballistic missile with a range of 300 km based on Fateh-110 missile. The missile was unveiled in February 2011.

Iran has completed 10-day long military exercise, codenamed Great Prophet-6 on Wednesday.

According to RIA Novosti, Iran has test fired two Shahab-1 missiles, two Shahab-2s and one upgraded Shahab-3 missile and nine Zelzal missiles in the exercise.

The exercise was conducted to spread a message of peace and friendship to the countries of the region, the Islamic republic said.
