NEW DELHI (BNS): Brahmand.com, an initiative of BrahMos Aerospace, has awarded Master Rishabh Verma, as the winner of “Innovative Ideas on Science and Technology" competition 2011.

Former President of India Dr. A PJ Abdul Kalam along with Dr. A S Pillai, CEO & MD, BrahMos Aerospace felicitated him for his very unique and innovative concept design on "Solar Robotic Walker for Disabled People" on the occasion of 10th anniversary of the first launch of BRAHMOS supersonic cruise missile.

Master Rishabh, a class XI student from St. Luke’s Senior Secondary School, Solan (Himachal Pradesh) has presented a novel and eco friendly idea to convert solar power energy into electric power for the functioning of a walker used by disabled person.

The principle of operation is to convert the solar power into power source. The model shows how inverter circuit attached to the system converts the stored DC into AC and feeds the servo motor. A micro controller chip is also attached to control the servomotor and the movements of the walker.
