MADRID (BNS): Spanish ship building firm Navantia has handed over the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) 'Yekuana' the third of four ocean-going patrol and surveillance ships ordered by Venezuela.
The ocean-going patrol ships can perform different missions, including surveillance and protection of the Exclusive Economic Zone, protection of maritime traffic, defence of strategic interests among others.
Besides the four OPVs, Venezuela also commissioned four Littoral Surveillance Ships (BVL) from Navantia.
