ELLIJAY, GEORGIA (BNS): The US Navy's T-39N Sabreliner trainer aircraft with four crew members on board crashed here on Monday.
While bodies of three personnel have been recovered, the status of the fourth member is unknown, the Navy said in a statement.
The mishap occurred at 4 pm on Monday when the plane went down near Blue Ridge, Georgia. The trainer jet was assigned to Training Air Wing Six based out of Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida.
The US Navy had, on March 31, 2010, lost its E-2C Hawkeye aircraft when it crashed in the North Arabian Sea while returning from conducting operations in Afghanistan.
