VIRGINIA (BNS): US Navy has awarded Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) $249 million worth defence contract.

According to news release by SAIC, the company has been awarded a task order by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command to provide modeling, simulation, and analytically based warfare analysis support including management and documentation to the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations' (OPNAV) Assessment Division (N81).

The task order was awarded under the U.S. Navy's SeaPort-e contract. OPNAV N81 provides capability based analyses of all aspects of naval warfare and support requirements.

SAIC is a scientific, engineering, and technology applications company.
