ANNAPOLIS (BNS): The US Navy has recently awarded a defence contract worth up to $43 million to Arinc Engineering Services' Coastal Systems Engineering (CSE) department to continue its support for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWC PCD).

The add-on task order, made on the CECOM R2-3G vehicle, carries a 1-year base term with two 1-year options, for a total potential value of $43 million.

Arinc will provide a broad range of engineering, logistics, financial, procurement, and technical documentation support under the contract. One of the primary programmes addressed is the Deployable Joint Command and Control System (DJC2), a rapidly deployable command and control (C2) field headquarters with advanced communications capabilities that is designed to be usable in military conflicts or domestic disaster relief, according to a news release by the company.

"Our involvement in C2 systems and special projects is at the core of what we do and this contract award ensures we will continue to contribute to the success of vital US missions, projects, and programmes," Arinc Coastal Systems Engineering Director Chuck Brooks, was quoted as saying in the news release.

Arinc will also support development of the Navy's Mobile Landing Platform (MLP), as well as several critical projects sponsored by Special Operations Command and other government agencies.
