ARLINGTON (BNS): The Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) of the US Department of Defense (DoD) has awarded two separate task order contracts to Lockheed Martin with a combined value of approx $460 million.
The JIEDDO Counter-IED Operations Integration Center is receiving analytical support teams from Lockheed Martin including technical expertise in operational level military operations, intelligence operations research/systems analysis, operations-intelligence fusion and analysis to support deployed US and coalition forces in counter-IED operations.
“Lockheed Martin is proud to perform mission-critical work for the safety and well-being of our troops, we are dedicated to JIEDDO, its mission of defeating IEDs and ultimately, saving lives,” Bob Kramer, Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Services-Defense’s vice president for Operational Systems & Services, said in a company’s official release.
The task orders have a one-year base period of performance with two one-year options, respectively.
Work has started at the company’s Northern Virginia and in the Central Command areas of operations.
