DALLAS (BNS): The US Army has awarded Lockheed Martin an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract worth up to USD4.94 billion to produce additional Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM), a critical 21st Century Security solution designed to provide the warfighter with unparalleled capability in the battlespace.

According to a press release by Lockheed Martin in 31st March 2025, the IDIQ contract enables the US Army to efficiently order PrSM units, providing a significant increase in production capacity to meet growing demand.

"Lockheed Martin is committed to delivering this deterrent capability in support of the Army’s vision for a lethal and resilient force," said Carolyn Orzechowski, vice president of Precision Fires Launchers and Missiles at Lockheed Martin. "Our team remains focused on advancing the production at speed and scale, ensuring the warfighter receives this critical capability to maintain peace through strength," as per the release.

Lockheed Martin's use of digital tools, such as augmented reality, ARISE advanced modeling and simulation, data analytics, and software factory, continues to drive development and improve producibility, quality, and performance.

With this contract award, Lockheed Martin reaffirms its commitment to delivering innovative, combat-proven solutions that support the Army's modernization efforts and ensure the warfighter remains ahead of emerging threats.

As a pressure-tested capability, PrSM is the US Army's next-generation long-range precision strike missile, capable of neutralising targets beyond 400 kilometers. This advanced surface-to-surface weapon features an open systems architecture design for maximum flexibility, modularity for future growth, and compatibility with HIMARS and Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) platforms.
