ThyssenKrupp Aerospace sets up maiden facility in Bengaluru


BENGALURU (PTI): Aerospace materials and logistics provider ThyssenKrupp Aerospace, part of the Business Area Materials Services, on Wednesday forayed India with the launch of its first facility here.

The facility aims to meet the rising demand of the local aerospace industry, thus strengthening the company's global footprint and further expanding presence in the Asia Pacific region, the Germany-based company said.

ThyssenKrupp Aerospace is the largest aerospace material services company globally that also offers supply chain management facilities to the world's foremost aerospace industries, it said.

Companies like ThyssenKrupp Aerospace enable the development of both, the aerospace ecosystem and the local industry, ThyssenKrupp said in a statement.

As per industry data, India is expected to become a large market for commercial and defence aircraft in coming years.

Its foray into India is well timed, as the country has recently embarked upon an ambitious 'Make In India' mission and is keen to establish its manufacturing prowess globally, the company said.

"The Make in India mission is an ideal opportunity to work closely with India's vibrant aerospace industry..," J'rgen Funke, Chief Executive Officer, ThyssenKrupp Aerospace, said after inaugurating the facility.

The facility will stock the complete range of aerospace materials such as aluminium, titanium and steel in bars, plates, sheets, rounds and more.
