LONDON (BNS): British defence firm BAE Systems has won a contract worth $120 million to supply 102 more BVS10 all-terrain vehicles to the Swedish armed forces.

The contract, announced by BAE on December 19, is an extension of a previous contract awarded to the company in January 2012 to supply 48 BvS10 ATVs to Sweden.

The vehicles will be delivered in different variants -- troop carrier, command vehicle, ambulance, and logistic carrier.

Delivery of the vehicles will begin in 2014 and completed by 2015, the defence firm said.

The BvS10 is a further development of the smaller Bv206S and the latest version, the BvS10 MkII provides perfect combination of protection, mobility and payload. With a built in growth potential for the future, the vehicle is designed for a payload of up to 6 tonnes.

Sweden, UK, the Netherlands, and France operate the BvS10 ATVs.
