Supersonic BRAHMOS a major highlight at DSA 2024

NEW DELHI (BNS): Supersonic cruise missile BRAHMOS has garnered a lot of interest among high-level defence delegates who have visited the BrahMos pavilion during the ongoing Defence Service Asia (DSA) Exhibition and Conference 2024 being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

BrahMos Aerospace – the designer and producer of the powerful precision-guided weapon – has been displaying various variants of BRAHMOS at the four-day long defence exposition which began on May 06, 2024.

High Commissioner of India to Malaysia, Shri B N Reddy inaugurated the BrahMos pavilion on the opening day of DSA-2024 in the presence of Addl. Secretary, Defence Production India, Shri T. Natarajan. They were apprised about the export efforts being undertaken in various countries.

High-level defence delegates from Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and Egypt showed keen interest in the state-of-the-art weapon system which has carved a niche in worldwide market owing to its supersonic speed, pin-point accuracy and lethal firepower.

General Songwit Noonpakdee, Chief of Defence Forces, Thailand, paid a visit to the BrahMos pavilion. He was briefed about the weapon’s formidable capabilities.

A Vietnamese delegation led by Senior Lt Gen Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of Vietnam People's Army (VPA), inquired about the multi-role BRAHMOS and its different configurations designed for modern ground, ship and air platforms.

Lt Gen Mahmoud Foaad Abd El-Gawad, Commander of the Egyptian Air Force, during his visit was updated about the supersonic cruise missile system and its key features.

General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Mohd Asghar Khan bin Goriman Khan, Commander of the Malaysian Air Force, made a visit to the BrahMos pavilion and was apprised of the advanced capabilities of the 'universal' cruise missile system which has emerged as a powerful force multiplier asset.   

Official delegates from many other countries also visited BrahMos.

BrahMos Aerospace – an India-Russia Defence Joint Venture (JV) – is exhibiting the ground, ship and air-launched variants of the supersonic cruise missile system at DSA-2024.

The Tri-Services of India have successfully operationalised BRAHMOS as their frontline weapon.
