NEW DELHI (BNS): The Sukhoi fighter aircraft will take on skies from Monday, said senior IAF officers. The Sukhoi crash on November 30 near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan was caused by an engine fire.

After the recent crash, the IAF had stopped flying all its Sukhoi aircraft and grounded it to carry out precautionary checks. The precautionary checks ordered on the Sukhoi fleet will be thoroughly completed by Monday.

"The crash, we have learnt during preliminary investigation, was caused by a fire in its engine. The pilots had switched off the engine to control the fire and this led to the mishap." they said.

The black box has been recovered by the probe team and it would be analysed by them soon. The probe team is comprised of IAF officers and HAL officials.
