MOSCOW (BNS): Russian aircraft maker Sukhoi is expected to bag a big-ticket deal to supply over 60 fighter jets to the Russian Air Force during the MAKS-2009 air show starting near here on Tuesday, according to a media report.
“Contracts have been drafted to supply 48 Su-35, four Su-30M2 and 12 Su-27M fighters by 2015. They are expected to be signed on the opening day of the air show,” RIA Novosti, quoting a defence source, said on Monday.
The deal would be worth around $1.9 billion, it said.
The Russian Defence Ministry is yet to confirm the news, the report said.
MAKS-2009 will begin on Tuesday at the Zhukovsky airfield southeast of Moscow.
