MOSCOW (PTI): A Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker fighter- bomber Wednesday crashed near the city of Vladivostok in Russia's far east during a training sortie.
The plane fell on the Solovei Klyuch village, but no one was hurt on the ground, RIA Novosti reported quoting a spokesman for the Eastern Military District.
The pilot ejected shortly before the plane crashed, the spokesman said.
"The pilot is in a satisfactory condition," he said.
A special commission has been set up to investigate the cause of the accident and its members are currently working at the crash site.
According to preliminary findings the crash was caused by a technical failure.
