BAIKONUR (BNS): The Soyuz-U rocket on a supply mission to the International Space Station has been successfully launched from here.
The rocket carrying the Progress M-06M space freighter lifted off from the Baikonur cosmodrome as per schedule at 19:35 Moscow time (15.35 GMT) on Wednesday.
The rocket successfully orbited Progress M-06M cargo vehicle which is to deliver about 2.5 kg of supplies to the International Space Station, Russian federal space agency Roscosmos said.
After Progress M-06M separation from the third stage, MCC-M took over control of the vehicle, it said.
The cargo spaceship is scheduled to dock with the ISS on Friday.
