PARIS (BNS): Solar Impulse – world's first solar-powered aircraft – is making an appearance at the ongoing Paris Air Show.
This is the first public appearance by the Swiss-made solar plane that made its maiden flight in April last year.
Three months later, it achieved another feat by flying for over 24 hours uninterruptedly powered only by solar energy.
The pioneering ‘green’ aircraft will be displayed on the ground from 20 to 26 June and will also make majestic flying displays depending on weather conditions.
France is hosting the 49th International Paris Air Show at the Le Bourget exhibition centre that has witnessed the participation of nearly 2,100 international exhibitors including top aircraft manufacturers and aerospace firms.
