VISAKHAPATNAM (PTI): As a part of SIMBEX-12, the ongoing Joint Naval Exercise of navies of India and the Republic of Singapore in the Bay of Bengal, two ships of the Singapore Navy, RSS Stalwart and RSS Victory, arrived at Visakhapatnam.
RSN Stalwart is a Stealth Frigate, under the Command of Commander Chew Chun Liang, while RSN Victory is a Missile Corvette commanded by Lieutenant Commander Eric Tan Wei Hong, according to a naval release.
The Deputy Fleet Commander of the Singapore Navy, Colonel Joe Cheong, who is also visiting the Command during the period, called on Vice Admiral Anil Chopra, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command.
Apart from RSN Stalwart and Victory, the Singapore Navy will also have a Fokker 50 maritime patrol aircraft and a S70B anti submarine helicopter participating in the exercise.
