RESTON, VIRGINIA (BNS): US Air Force (USAF) has awarded a $14 million defence contract to the Serco Inc. for supporting the USAF Materiel Command (AFMC), Logistics Directorate, Depot Maintenance Division with analytical, technical and programmatic support for depot maintenance management oversight programmes.
According to the contract, Serco will support a new series of initiatives to increase the productivity of the weapon systems, shorten time spent in depot maintenance, improve future defence programme planning, enhance execution of new weapon systems depot maintenance workload, improve legacy information and data system operations; with a goal to reduce costs for the war-fighter, and strategic planning.
"Serco is proud of the work they do to support the Air Force Materiel Command, and we are honoured to have been chosen for this new contract," said Gary Zuber, Serco’s Vice President of Air Force Logistics Systems, as per the company news release.
Serco Inc. currently supports the AFMC in the areas of logistics, systems and network engineering and integration, software and web-based application development, data management and warehousing, information assurance, training, and acquisition and programme management.
