BANGALORE (BNS): The second edition of Bengaluru Space Expo 2010, showcasing the glorious achievements and future programmes of the global space industry, has opened in Bangalore on Wednesday.
The four-day long exhibition is a one-stop platform for space agencies, scientists, astronomers, specialists, entrepreneurs, and other industry heavyweights to display and market their products, latest technologies, innovations and other allied services.
The event, which is Asia's only exhibition dedicated to space industry, also provides a unique opportunity for forming partnerships, clinching deals and transferring technology among the participating organizations/agencies.
Organised by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Antrix Corporation Ltd, BSX-2010 is hosting a number of countries including Malaysia, France and USA.
The grand event is being supported by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Earth Sciences and BrahMos Aerospace, the designer and developer of world’s only supersonic cruise missile – BRAHMOS.
The theme of this year’s exhibition is ‘Asia’s Achievements and Dreams for the Space Sector.’
The space expo is also hosting a number of space leaders from across the globe who will explore mutual cooperation in space science and technology during the three-day long ‘World Space-Biz’ conference that will run concurrently.
World Space-Biz will provide the platform for exploring mutually beneficial cooperation in space science and space programmes, according to Antrix Managing Director K R Sridhara Murthi.
