STOCKHOLM (BNS): Swedish defence firm Saab has received a contract from the US Department of State to provide the Giraffe AMB surveillance radar systems and related services.
The contract is valued at worth USD 23.7 million.
Deliveries will take place during 2012 and 2013, the company announced on Wednesday.
The Giraffe radars have been designed for simultaneous air defence, air and sea surveillance and air/land integration, military air traffic control and rocket, artillery and mortar alert.
The multi-mission radar system has been deployed in the armed forces of Sweden, France, UK and Australia and other countries worldwide.
