QUEPEM, GOA (BNS): Swedish defence company Saab is exhibiting its latest range of cutting edge technologies across land, air and naval domain covering civil and military defence, security and communication management solutions at Defexpo 2016.
Saab is teaming up with India to engage in joint development of new generations of products and promote local manufacturing. The focus on domestic manufacturing under the "Make in India" campaign presents major opportunities for Saab.
By working with local companies in R&D, machining, composites and aerospace technologies we can break the thought barrier and develop high quality, cost-efficient defence systems that are ready for tomorrow's challenges, , a company statement said.
Saab's involvement in India stretches back to 1975 when the Carl Gustaf system was first supplied to the military. Saab is also involved in two successful joint ventures with Indian companies, through which it has shared knowledge with the local defence industry.
