STOCKHOLM (BNS): The Swedish Defence Ministry has awarded Saab a contract for the development of existing Gripen fighters operated by the country’s armed forces.
The contract amounting to 152 MSEK (over $24 million) entails development of the existing material system 39 (edition 19) of the Gripen multi-role fighters.
The order consists of development work in Gripen C/D, for example enhanced working environment in the cockpit.
The work will be carried out in 2011 and 2012, according to Saab.
