JAIPUR (PTI): Lt Gen Arun Kumar Sahni on Sunday retired as General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of South Western Command after 40 years of service.
His successor Lt Gen Sarth Chand will take charge on Monday.
Sahni paid tributes to the martyrs at Prerna Sthal at the Jaipur Military Station and later reviewed a special guard of honour by the troops of the Jaipur based Command, defence spokesperson Lt Col Manish Ojha said.
"Apart from ensuring a high state of operational preparedness and keeping the Command fully trained to its optimum, Lt Gen Sahni worked tirelessly to ensure welfare not only of the serving soldiers but also to meet the aspirations of the large veterans community throughout the Sapta Shakti Command," he said.
