SAIC awarded contract by US Army Engineering and Support Center Huntsville

MCLEAN, VIRGINIA (BNS): Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) was recently awarded a prime contract by the United States Army Engineering and Support Center Huntsville (CEHNC) to provide maintenance and services for Access Control Point (ACP), electronic and physical security systems, Utility Monitoring and Control Systems (UMCS), and other electronic systems.

The multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options and a total contract value of $315 million for all awardees, if all options are exercised.

The CEHNC supports ballistic missile defence, installation support, ordnance and explosives, engineering, chemical demilitarisation programmes and the Environmental and Munitions Center of Expertise.

"We look forward to providing worldwide maintenance and service for access control point, electronic and physical security systems, UMCS and related systems, enabling critical protection of people, assets and information," said John Thomas, SAIC senior vice president and group general manager.

Under the contract, SAIC will provide maintenance and services for ACP, electronic and physical security systems, UMCS, and other electronic systems, including: scheduled and unscheduled maintenance; repair and replacement modernisation; equipment inventories; condition assessments; identification and validation of problems and deficiencies; preparation and execution of work plans to repair failed or failing systems; facility management support; project management; central monitoring services; and other activities associated with operation, maintenance and repair.
