MOSCOW (BNS): The Russian Strategic Missile Forces will be equipped with advanced automated command-and-control systems, a news report said.
SMF Chief Lt. Gen. Sergei Karakayev said, the new 'fourth-generation systems' will be deployed next year at command posts and fixed-site and road-mobile missile complexes.
A Ria Novosting report quoting him said, the system is designed to ensure effective control of new-generation nuclear weapons.
The importance of command and control links has increased as strategic nuclear launch systems have become aged, Karakayev said.
