BAIKONUR (BNS): Russia's Progress M-04M space freighter, carrying supplies to the International Space Station, is all set to blast off from Kazakhstan on Wednesday.

The Soyuz-U carrier rocket, which will launch the freighter, has been transported to the Baikonur space centre and erected at pad 1 of the space port, Federal Space Agency Roskosmos said.

The launch is scheduled to take place at 6.45 Moscow time on Wednesday.

The cargo supply mission will deliver propellant components, scientific equipment, food and water containers, consumables, crew parcels at the ISS, the space agency said.

The ISS is presently managed by a six-member crew of Russian, American and Japanese astronauts.

Russia had sent the previous cargo spaceship – Progress-M03M – to the orbital station in October last year. The new generation and digitally controlled spaceship had delivered food and other scientific equipment to the ISS crew.
