MOSCOW (BNS): Russia will take up construction of its share of the International Space Station by launching a Mini-Research Module (MRM2) on Tuesday.
A Soyuz booster rocket, carrying the Progress-M space freighter, is set to blast off from the Baikonur space centre at 1422 GMT on Tuesday.
The space freighter will carry the MRM-2 module, also called ‘Poisk’, to the space station. It will be the fourth module at the Russian segment of the ISS, federal space agency Roscosmos said.
The module will be used in 10 new experiments at the Zvezda module and the Pirs docking station on the Russian segment of the ISS.
It will also carry out scientific experiments, besides providing additional docking port, the agency said.
