MOSCOW (BNS): Russia's advanced fifth generation fighter aircraft (FGFA) have completed 100 test flights since the beginning of their flight trials in January 2010.

Two FGFA prototypes are presently undergoing flight trials.

The 100th test flight of the stealth fighter took place on November 3, Sukhoi Corporation, the aircraft's manufacturer, said.

Russia began flight testing the new-generation supersonic stealth fighter in 2010 when the first aircraft, developed under the Sukhoi PAK FA project, took to the sky on January 29, 2010.

The second prototype fighter entered flight trials in March this year.

At present, work is underway on the full range of ground and flight tests, Sukhoi said.

The advanced warplane made its first public appearance during the MAKS 2011 international air show at Zhukovsky near Moscow.

The new fighter is expected to enter service with the Russian Air Force in 2015. India, which is partnering with Russia in developing the warplanes for its air force, plans to induct over 200 such aircraft by 2017.
