Russian army chief in town

NEW DELHI (PTI): Russian Army chief Col Gen Salukov Oleg Leonidovich on Monday arrived here on a four-day visit seeking to enhance bilateral military ties.

The Commander-in-Chief (C-in-C) of Russian Land Forces, Col Gen Leonidovich held talks with his Indian counterpart Gen Dalbir Singh.

He also paid homage at the Amar Jawan Jyoti and reviewed the Guard of Honour.

The Col Gen will visit the Indian Army's South Western Command Headquarters tomorrow and the Parachute Training School and Independent Parachute Brigade at Agra the day after.

The visit is aimed at enhancing bilateral military ties between India and Russia, an official statement said.
