MOSCOW (BNS): Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday visited the BrahMos pavilion on the inaugural day of the MAKS International Aviation and Space (MAKS) show being held at the Zhukovsky air field near Moscow.
The Prime Minister was shown the air-launched BRAHMOS missile's full-scale model which is being displayed at the international exhibition.
The Prime Minister, who spent a good deal of time at the BrahMos pavilion, was apprised about the progress work on the integration of the air-launched BRAHMOS on the Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft.
"The (BrahMos) project is a proud example of India-Russia friendship and military technical cooperation," he remarked.
BrahMos Aerospace, which is taking part in the biennial MAKS exhibition since 2003, is also displaying the ship-based weapon complex, land-based weapon complex and the recently test-launched underwater complex of the supersonic BRAHMOS cruise missile system at the show.
The air-launched version of BRAHMOS is presently under development and is scheduled to be flight tested by the end of this year.
