MOSCOW (BNS): Russia is willing to sell its advanced Su-35 Flanker fighters to China, the country’s leading arms exporter Rosoboronexport has said.
“We are ready to work with our Chinese partners to this end (Su-35 deliveries),” Deputy General Director of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheyev, was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti during Airshow China 2010 in Zhuhai.
The Su-35 is an advanced long-range multi-role fighter of the 4++ generation. It employs fifth-generation technologies and features new increased and vectored thrust engines, new avionics suite and a new radar with a phased antenna array capable of detecting and tracking a larger number of air targets simultaneously.
The fighter can carry a wide range of weapons including guided aerial bombs and unguided missiles.
Russian aircraft manufacturer Sukhoi, which is manufacturing the warplanes, has said that it will start exporting Su-35s to Southeast Asian, Middle East, and South American countries by next year.
